We need help filling holiday stockings for veterans!

We need teens
(in grades 6-12) to help fill holiday stockings for veterans at the Coatesville Veterans Medical Center! We'll be filling the stockings with goodies on Wednesday, December 10th, at 4:30 pm in the Struble Room at Chester County Library. After we stuff the stockings, we'll stuff our faces with pizza. :)

Holiday Stockings for Veterans

We need your donations! From now until December 8, Chester County Library's Teen Library Crew is collecting items for holiday stockings for veterans at the Coatesville Veterans Medical Center.  The teens will assemble and deliver the stockings later in December. 

Acceptable items are listed below. All items must fit in a stocking that is 6 inches wide and 15 inches tall.  Please place your donated items in the box by the front door of the library. THANK YOU for your donations!

Acceptable items for female veterans include $5 or $10 gift cards to Wawa or Walmart, socks, lip balm, body wash (no bar soap), body lotion, nail polish, hand cream, cookies (commercially packaged), candy, and crossword puzzle/word game books.
Acceptable items for male veterans include $5 or $10 gift cards to Wawa or Walmart, socks, lip balm, underwear, deodorant, hand cream, cookies (commercially packaged), candy, and crossword puzzle/word game books.

Teen Penny Auction


Want some cool stuff by spending just a few pennies?  Come to the Teen Penny Auction at Chester County Library!*  Bring one roll of 50 pennies, and you can bid on great prizes such as books, DVDs, sports merchandise, gift cards to Regal Movie Theaters and Chick Fil-A, and much more.  No one goes home empty-handed, and all money raised will go to charity.

This FREE teens-only event will happen on Friday, December 5th, from 6:30-8:00 pm in the Struble Room at Chester County Library. Snacks will be served! :)

2014 Teen Bake-Off at CC Library!

Do you like to bake? Come to CCL's 2014 Teen Bake-Off! Our judges will decide who has the best stuff.

The Bake-Off will be held on Friday, March 28, from 4:00-5:30 pm in the Struble Room at Chester County Library.

There are 3 categories in this year's Bake-Off: 
- Cupcakes
- Cookies
- Breads
There will be one winner from each category.

BAKE-OFF RULES:
  • Bakers must be 11-19 years old (no adults or younger children, please).
  • You must register online for this event. Go to www.ccls.org - Find an Event - Chester County Library - On the calendar, go to March 28 and click on Teen Bake-Off - Fill in your information.
  • You can register for ONE of the three categories: Cupcakes, Cookies, or Breads.
  • When you register, please type what your baked item is in the "Notes" section of the registration form.
  • You can bake by yourself or with a partner. If you are baking with a partner, only ONE of you needs to register. Please type your partner's name in the "Notes" section of the registration form.
  • When you bring your baked good to the Bake-Off on March 28th, you also must bring 2 things:
    • An index card with your name (and your partner's name, if you have one) and the name of your baked good on it.
    • Your recipe typed on 8.5" x 11" paper.
  • Quantities needed for each category:
    • Cupcakes - 12 cupcakes
    • Cookies - 24 cookies
    • Breads - 1 loaf
  • This event is limited to 24 participants.

Teen Scavenger Hunt

 
Are you good at following clues to locate hidden stuff? Come to the Teen Scavenger Hunt and find your loot!  It will be held in the Youth Services Department at Chester County Library on Friday, February 28th, from 4:00-5:30 pm.  This is a FREE event for students in grades 6-12.
