2015 CCL Teen Summer Reading

Chester County Library's Teen Summer Reading program has begun! This year's theme is "Unmask." Here's how it works: Come to the Youth Services Department to get your calendar. From June 8th to August 16th, mark your calendar each day you read or listen to books for 60 minutes. You'll get a prize when you reach 20 days of reading, 40 days of reading, and 60 days of reading. Each time your calendar is checked, your name will be entered in the Teen Summer Reading Raffle. The raffle will be held on September 4th, and winners will be notified by phone.

Below is a list of all summer teen events. You need to register online for these events. You can register by going to www.chescolibraries.org > Events > Teen Programs > On the calendar, find the event date and click on the event name > Fill in your information.

Each week, we focus on a different book genre (see above). First, you'll talk about what you're reading with the group. Then you'll do some Book Speed-Dating -- You'll "get to know" a book for 4 minutes, and then...DING! When the bell rings, you'll rate how much you liked or didn't like that book. Then you'll move on to the next book, "get to know it" for 4 minutes and rate it...and so on. It's a fun way to acquaint yourself with a lot of books in a short amount of time.
